Sunday 22 February 2015

Dawlish United 1-4 Central United

Another comprehensive victory on Saturday chaps.  The result never really looked in doubt after Marcus put us 1-0 up early in the match; from then on it was one way traffic.  Marcus completed a very classy hat-trick before half time and Matt got on the score sheet again with a excellent goal to see us go into the break 4 goals to the good.

As expected, Dawlish put plenty of players behind the ball in the second half so, again, much of the play was in their half but despite going close a numerous occasions we couldn't quite find the back of the net.  A very dubious penalty decision meant Dawlish got a consolation goal towards the end of the game.

Congratulations to Marcus for breaching the 20 goal mark (22 goals in total) for the season; a great achievement.

Man of the Match this week goes to George who must have covered every blade of grass over the 60 minutes and ran the show in midfield - well done George!

It's great to see our passing game coming back but more importantly seeing you all play with a smile on your face again.

I'm afraid i'm in Scotland today so won't be able to make training but Joe and Luke will still be there.

It's the Plate Competition next Sunday so can you remember to let me know if your son is able to make it please.

Central United 5-1 West Hill Wasps

OWell done all for getting things back on track yesterday with an excellent win - much more like it!  It was great to have 5 different goal scorers too in Zac, Marcus, George, Matt and Pacey.

Man of the Match goes to Zac B for an outstanding performance that had it all, skill, passing, endeavour and a goal to top it off - a big well done Zac.

The Plate Competition was postponed due to poor pitch conditions and has been re-scheduled for 1st March.

See you all at training tomorrow.

Friday 13 February 2015

Apologies for the late posts - hoping to get back to some normality soon!

Unfortunately it was another defeat last weekend but at least it was an improvement on the week before.  However, once again the game was lost due to conceding more soft goals through not closing down quick enough - we really need to improve on this chaps!

Pacey gets Man of the Match for scoring the best goal of the game and for his battling performance - well done Pacey!

It's a busy weekend coming up, West Hill at KGV tomorrow and the Plate Competition on Sunday.  KO Saturday is 10.30am so 10am meet please.

A new month

I'm keeping this brief for two reasons, firstly i'm really busy moving house and, secondly, the less said about yesterday's performance the better!

We're currently on a poor run of form and yesterday's defeat was a particular low point in our season so far but this happens in football, even to the best of them.  What's important now is that you all stick together and show character and belief to bounce back - new month new start!

See you at training tomorrow.
