Axminster Town 1-2 Central United

It was a cracking venue for a football match and ideal conditions too and we made the most of it with some scintillating football which was a pleasure to watch.

We started really brightly and Oakley soon put us ahead with an excellent low driving shot from the edge of the penalty area that nestled nicely into the bottom left hand corner of the net.  From then on it was one way traffic with Axminster being run ragged with our quick precise passing and the chances kept coming but unfortunately we just couldn't find the back of the net.

The second half was much the same but we did eventually get a second when Kaden, instinctively, got on the end of a good delivery into the box and smashed the ball home.  The points looked wrapped up until Axminster got one back via a corner which put us on edge for the last 10 minutes.  In a game which could so easily have been 5 or 6-1 anything other than 3 points would have been a massive injustice.

Man of the Match goes to Kaden for not only getting on the score sheet yet again but for his brilliant link up play as well as demonstrating such great skill and ball control throughout the game.

Oakley and George deserve a mention for dominating the centre midfield.

Still unbeaten in the league and now joint top, so a big well done chaps!

We don't have a game next week but I've been offered a friendly on Sunday morning.  I need to respond asap so if you are unable to make it can you let me know today please.

See you at training tomorrow.
