Can't win 'em all!

Unlucky yesterday lads, we may not have been at our best but didn't deserve to lose.  We've played worse against better sides and won this season but that's they way it goes sometimes.

In the first half Marcus went really close on a few occasions, twice with great headers; one of which looked a sure goal but struck the upright.  Playing into the strong wind and rain in the first half I would have taken a draw into half-time and it was looking highly likely until literally 20 seconds from the end of the half, when West Exe somehow managed to scramble the ball inches over the line from a corner - this was a real sucker punch.

With another half to play, though, and with the wind behind us I felt confident we would get something out of the game but despite plenty of good pressure we couldn't find the breakthrough due to some stout defending by West Exe.  Towards the end of the game West Exe broke away and got a second with the only chance I recall them having in the second half, which secured them all 3 points.

Ted gets Man of the Match for a really solid display and barely putting a foot wrong the whole game - well done Ted.

It wasn't the start to 2015 we were hoping for but it's only our first defeat so not the end of the world - you can't win 'em all.  We'll bounce back!

I'm out for Joseph's birthday tomorrow so can't make training but Joe and Luke will be there to take it so please listen and do what they say.

It's the Plate Cup Competition next Saturday in Dawlish.  I'll be in touch soon with the details.
