Central United 2-2 Sidmouth Raiders

We were way off the pace in the first half today; quite simply Sidmouth wanted it more, were the better team and deserved to go into half time with a 1-0 lead.

It was good to see that you took on board our comments at half time and came out a completely different team in the second half and were soon rewarded with an equalising goal by Marcus.  With most of the play in the opposition half it was looking like we would go in front but, from what looked like a poor corner that was going to hit the side netting, Sidmouth managed to score a very fortuitous goal that somehow managed to evade everyone and creep inside the near post to put them in the lead again.

You all responded really well and got back on level terms when Marcus showed great strength and determination to get his second of the match.  Right up to the end it looked like we might snatch the victory but, unfortunately, it wasn't to be and we ran out of time. Overall, though, I think a draw was probably a fair result.

So, let's forget all about the first half and be positive about the second and the way you fought back from going behind twice - can I have more of the latter for the next game please but this time from the get-go!!!

Man of the Match goes to Joseph for a very strong display in defence and showing more confidence on the ball and for clearing 2 balls off the line at crucial points in the game - well done Joseph!

See you at training Monday!
